Capture the Price Snapshot
Record the sportsbook or source, jurisdiction, event and market, side, exact odds or line, and timestamp before drawing a conclusion.
Translate Price into Probability
Implied probability is a translation of price. It is not a forecast and it is not proof of edge.
Validate Movement Correctly
Require same-book, same-market, same-side, timestamped chronology before calling a change verified repricing.
Cross-Book Differences = Dispersion
Differences between books are dispersion, not movement, unless time-ordered evidence establishes that the same market changed at the same sportsbook.
Separate Exposure, Promotion, Liability, and Sharp Action
These are different claims that require different evidence. Public splits and promotional placement do not establish sportsbook liability or sharp action.
Reference vs Executable Price
Preserve the source and distinguish a reference price from a price actually available to the bettor.
Invalidation Conditions
Stale evidence, mismatched market identity, missing timestamps, unverified injury or status information, or an unavailable price means fail closed rather than manufacture certainty.
